If you want to stay in touch with me, just go to http://squeakeycat.net and register for my forums, my blog, and my site, and you won't miss anything that I am doing. Its been nice knowing everyone for the last 7 years. Take care all. You will be greatly missed if you don't join me on my paid for site. XOXOXOXOXOScott, I believe you have my email. Can you please email me your address again so that I can send you a Christmas card this year. I lost my folder with all my addresses in it, and this time, it will be kept on a disc with all the rest of my addresses….thanks.Also, belated Happy Birthday, Happy Halloween, and if I don't talk to you before then, early Happy Thanksgiving and Christmas.
And I'm working on redoing my site. I think the new set up I have in progress for it, will look better than the one I have right now.Granted, the top of it will still have the links that are there right now, with the exception of a couple of them, but for the most part, I'm totally redoing it.I have been working on this site for years. I had a program when I first started it that made it a beautiful site, not what you see today. That program got outdated, and I couldn't upgrade it, so I lost everything I ever did with it. Hopefully, when I get the new one done in Dreamweaver CC, it will look a lot better, and people will actually like to read it.Hope to hear from you soon.KimPS don't forget to email me (and also, you may want to change your email from Opera as well, as they are closing that too.)
thanks for the information. man…. that sucks. I_ArtMan@operamail.com is my address everywhere… though it is fastmail.com so it may survive. no official notice has been given. yes. i swear by dreamweaver…. as complicated as it can be, it is also very easy to simplify. reworking my hungryeyegraphics.com pages again right now.
cool, will have to bookmark it again on this computer. I just got a new one, and its got windows 8.1 pro on it.if you go to my "happy birthday post" carol left a link there that has the full article about opera's closing on it. it states that they are closing the email as well, and that everyone should forward their email from there to another email address.
Scott, It appears that Opera is making some business decisions to center their business focus on core profitable activities. They will probably not abandon their successful browser and mail applications, part of their core and history. FastMail, with our operamail.com designation will remain, because the fast mail acquisition by Opera has been unbundled back to the Fast Mail employees, who bought it awhile back. All aspects, including the internal mail associated with My Opera will go. I would recommend that those running Opera 12.6 or earlier, do an UPGRADE, to Opera version 17, such that passwords, bookmarks, notes, and other synchronized elements are taken into the new upgraded version. Also, if there are those who used the internal mail within Opera 12.6 or earlier, they should Upgrade to Opera Mail version 1.0. Opera has become very successful in doing corporate level consultancy with focus on the mobile technology and applications, which seemingly is the driving force behind these changes. I suspect there will be more to come, but losing My Opera is sad, yet as we have all seen, many folks have gone over to Facebook – as we have come to learn in life, nothing is permanent or lasts forever, including us. Hope this was helpful. :worried:
