there is this pregnant moment
which alters my direction
it is the baby i am
and not the man
but sometimes succumbing
to downward dreadful path
seems the only course
to shake things up.
all new beginnings are dangerous.
just like endings are anti life.
not trying to be enigmatic
just trying to pierce the veil with words. …
deep, that. and good. 'succumbing … path' also leads to rebirth or beginning again. just a thought there. so what's up with the 'strangely depressed?' been there and done that so many times i've an empty seat reserved for it at the table. a frequent guest, if not always an honored one. bravo, as usual, and as usual so many times i worry about being fawning or repetitive, on the art work. moon
ahhh moon… your comment lifted my spirits… i can't explain how badly i feel right now. i should be so grateful to have bobbed to the top of the river, and yet… unexplicably i have taken a nose-dive.thanks kimberly, always happy to hear from you.
Excellent words, Scott. And the wolves? BEAUTIFUL!
very beautiful painting, scott
right. and well said. i know i have to stop trying so hard.
when you're on the rapids of that river, sit back and take the drenching. self-effort won't calm the waters. knowing that silvan waters are around the bend is often our only comfort when the raft is taking a beating.
New beginnings can be exciting as well. I've learned to enjoy the "danger" in my life, though "little sandy" sometimes still likes to hide under the bed from it. :lol:I love the coolness of this painting, the blue of the snow. The expressions on the wolves faces. It's very dynamic.
thanks san, lovely comment.
Your welcome….btw…is this painting for sale? 🙄 I have a friend I know that would love it. (well, I love it too)
it was a commission i painted while living under the 'fish in' upriver in washington state (rockport) on the bank of the mighty skagit river. it was for a nineteen year-old and i had a devil of a time getting paid for it. but finally did.i put all my energy into this one. believe it or not, it's very autobiographical. the lady that owned the 'fish' and let me build a studio under it was quite a trip. it may be interesting for you to know that the painting is like we were to each other. love… hate… what a mixed up bag. which wolf do you think is her?she literally threw me out seven times… and the last time, i had to call the sheriff because she was waiting on the deck above my door with a nickle plated 45. i'm sure she would have shot me if i dared come out.
sorry, wrong. the female is on the right. have to really study this painting to get the truth of it. i, of course, have no problem with it as a study of gender gap. we so need women but they so much hate our behavior.
That's quite the story! :DI kind of think that she is the one on the left. She's got one paw up, she's in control and yet not quite, thinking which way to go now. Her ears are up, she's heard something. The other wolf is watching, wondering what the hell she's going to do next.
