couldn't resist this test i found on azuretimm's blog
to fall for this check? it looks good to me. but it does make me feel stupid. …
the computer at stupidtester.com says that i am as stupid as 8% of the people who took the test. i liked the first question… had me stumped for an honest answer.
by the way, i didn't make my seasonal debut on the boardwalk this weekend as planned due to my big toe… don't ask. i feel so stupid… if i'm so smart, why aren't i rich? maybe it's not smart to be rich… hmmm i think i'm onto something big…
Hey, if you don't mind, I'm going to add you into my friend list… I'm fond of art but not as talented as any artist… 😀
glad to accept a kindred spirit…
I don't think you're stupid. People put a lot of time and effort into faking things What you can do if you ever get another check and you're not sure about it is, google the bank, and then call and verify the check with them. They should be able to confirm the employee or official that signed it, the routing, check, and account numbers and that the funds are available. It is also an option to fax a copy of the check to the bank it is supposed to be drawn from, that will give you further protection against counterfeits.Sometimes when a check is fake the person will put a fake phone number for verification that calls to a number that doesn't work or is their own number and they'll pretend to verify it, that's why it is good to find the institution it claims to be drawn off of and contact them directly. Via email or an 800 number. If they can't, or you can't find them it is good to ask your teller to put a hold on the check until it clears then you cannot accidently spend the funds. Also, cashier's checks are mostly typed and not handwritten. If a check says payable through, or payable at, instead of pay to the order of it is a different type of negotiable instruement than a cashiers check and is not guaranteed and it would be wise not to use the funds until it clears. I used to be a bank teller and that's my best advice. 🙂
very good. i will take your advice in the future. thank you.
Well, this was me. I'm a whole quarter stupid.
Quentin, i'm sure you just raced through it. it's full of trick questions. glad to see someone can join in the fun.
Who wouldn't love a real check like that???
right. it made me genuinely happy for a week or so until it bounced.it's still a great mystery to me how it happened.why me?
…so, was the check real or not? :worried:
well, since they, the bank, didn't pay on it i can only assume it's a forgery. the bank manager wants me to send him the original. i have to request that from my bank. but why bother? it's already been deemed 'no good'the bank wants to help the f.b.i. they said. but bank fraud is in the secret service domain.the main question is why? why would any one send anyone a bad check for nothing.
I'm 37% stupid. But I've got an excuse, english is not my native language. 😀
that's a good excuse in this case because even mastering english, i had a hell of a time figuring out the trick answers. too subtle. thanks for visiting… icare. i care too.
